Passivation

Passivation

The passivation of stainless steel (SS) is carried out to restore the corrosion-protective chromium oxide layer after, for example, mechanical processing. Depending on the type of base material, a pickling treatment is performed to clean the surface. The passivation itself is carried out using special solutions such as nitric acid or citric acid, which remove free iron particles and other contaminants. This allows the chromium oxide layer to reform, providing optimal corrosion protection.

If you have any questions about our passivation process, we will be happy to advise you.
