Phosphoric-Sulfuric Acid (PSA) anodizing is a specialized anodizing technique that creates a thin, porous oxide layer on aluminum. This layer is often used as a pre-treatment for the application of adhesive primers, providing excellent adhesion for glues and additional coatings. PSA anodizing is frequently applied for clients in the aerospace industry who demand the highest material performance standards.
During the PSA process, aluminum is immersed in an electrolytic bath containing a phosphoric and sulfuric acid solution. By applying an electrical current, a uniform oxide layer is formed, enhancing the surface properties of the material.
Advantages of PSA:
PSA is ideal for products that require strong adhesion of adhesives or coatings, such as components in aerospace, aviation, and the safety sector.
Standard specification complied with:
MIL-PRF-8625 Type IC
This process is certified by NADCAP and various OEMs.
